The Worst Day of My Life

0

What a wonderful day we had  until, . . . I’ll get to that later.

We started the day driving up Mt. Hermon to Israel’s only ski area. Along the way we saw these:

The cows were inside the pen that you see above, but they were also outside the pen, wandering along the road. While we were stopped taking pictures, the cows outside started to move toward us, which scared me. Abba kept saying it would be okay, but I was scared. In the end nothing happened and we finally drove away.

Before we arrived at our destination, Abba had to stop and take this picture of his truck. This is our last trip in it and he wanted to get a nice photo.

At the top, Abba had planned to take the ski lift even further, but the wind was really cold and we didn’t have any warm clothes. Thankfully, Abba looked around a little and found the roller sled, which we did.  That was so much fun. This was really turning out to be a great day.

After a few trips on the roller sled, we headed down the mountain and ended up near the tepee again. Yesterday, we met a horse that was walking along the road – no rope, no owner – and Abba asked if I wanted to see if we could find the horse again. Of course I said yes, so Abba drove up Tepee Road. Sure enough, the horse was there, but he was trying to get food from the campers.

On or way down the mountain, we stopped by our hotel for this photo:

It’s not a real snowman, but it was fun to see him. He has a coffee cup for a hat.

Abba had been saving the next stop as a big surprise: McDonalds. It started out really good, but became the worst day of my life pretty quickly. This McDonalds sits right beside a river that has some rapids and alots of boats floating by; the plan was to eat lunch and enjoy the scenery.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible because while Abba was waiting in line to order our food, the door shut on my finger and it hurt worse than anything could ever hurt. I guess I don’t need to say that I cried very badly. I did.

When Abba finally brought the food to the table, I couldn’t eat because I was still crying. It hurt so so bad. I told Ima, “I can’t believe this happened on vacation. This is the worst day of my life!” Ima was so sweet, trying to comfort me. Abba said, “Sweety, I hope this is the worst day of your life.” I don’t understand what that means, but I think he was trying to say something nice.

I think I’m going to have a black fingernail, a souvenir from the worst day of my life.
